Welcome to the Stamford Youth Soccer League Web Site.
For 30 years the Stamford Youth Soccer League has provided an opportunity to play soccer for youth between the ages of 5-19. Our goal is to create an atmosphere within which children of all ability levels can learn the game of soccer as well as important life skills of sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline, etc.
SYSL is associated with the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA), and as such, is affiliated with the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA), subsidiaries of the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and in turn, the Federation Intenationale de Football Association (FIFA), the world governing body of soccer. We are part of the Southwest District of CJSA.

Stamford Hurricanes Boys Take First Place at Labor Day Tournament!
The Stamford Hurricanes Boys U-14 Travel Soccer Team, coached by Santiago Valderrama and Oscar Condori, took first place at the Fairfield FAST Fall Annual Soccer Tournament over the Labor Day weekend.
The first place title was up for grabs going into the final game of the tournament. The top three teams, Stamford, Weston, & Fairfield Red were all undefeated at that point. Stamford faced Fairfield in the final game of the tournament, with both teams having 2 wins and 1 tie. Either team would take the Championship with a win, while Stamford needed a win or a tie to capture the title (Stamford had overall higher tournament goals). At half time, the score was tied 0 - 0, but during the second half, forward Donal Mahoney scored the championship-winning goal with a well-played breakaway.
The other tournament goals were skillfully scored by Stamford forwards Danny Sanchez (3 goals), Ramiro Escobar (1 goal), Joe Ertl (1 goal). Stamford also had strong forward play throughout the four games from forwards Leo Filgueiras and Artur Kotuzyak.
Stamford's defensive line ended the tournament with a perfect record - a complete shutout with no allowed goals. Excellent goal keeping by Yarnel Valle was supported by rock solid defenders Ovidio Beltran, Derek Harper, Richard Gallagher and Daniel Rivas.
Outstanding midfield play by Octavio Avila, Sebastian Valderrama, Joshua Zavala, Michael Rybl and David Condori rounded out Stamford's firepower to win the Championship!
Stamford Hurricanes are looking to keep the momentum as they begin regular league play next week and Connecticut Cup competition in the following weeks. Congratulations Stamford Hurricanes.
Our soccer community offers its collective prayers and best wishes to James Hilaire and his family.
In a very unfortunate incident, this past Wednesday, September 24th, University of New Haven goalkeeper, James Hilaire, was critically injured during a game. James is being treated for life-threatening injuries in the surgical intensive care unit at Boston Medical Center.
James is from Stamford, and some of you may remember him from the recent SYSL goalie clinic with Kirk Taylor. James assisted Kirk during some of those sessions. Besides being a superb athlete and outstanding goalie, he is a wonderful person.
